An album of high-quality archive black & white photographs illustrating locomotives and infrastructure once operated by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, during the years between 1947 and 1966. Many buildings remain in use today, but the last L&Y locomotives were withdrawn from service a few years before the end of main line steam.

This book is divided into chapters, each covering a different Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway subject and containing photographs taken during the British Railways years. It includes chapters on various locomotive types, as well as stations, signalboxes and locomotive sheds.

Each chapter consists of short introduction, followed by a series of black & white photographs, each accompanied by captions. Contains over 500 black & white photographs. Hardback. 192 pages.
