York Pullman - 1926 to 1985 (Stenlake)

Back Order

This is a fascinating collection of colour and black & white photos of buses and coaches run by York-based operator York Pullman from the founding of the company in 1926 until its sale to Reynard Coaches in 1985.

The book starts with a brief history of York Pullman and its operations including stage routes, tours and excursions along with a short-lived coach service to London in the early 1980s. The company’s double deckers were half-cab AEC Regents until the 1970s when they were replaced by Daimler Fleetlines, and single deckers in the York Pullman fleet included AEC Regals, AEC Reliances, Austin CXBs and Dennis Lancet IIIs. The final stage bus delivered to the company before its sale to Reynard was a 1982 Bedford YMT, and the last page briefly tells the story of the company after the 1985 sale. 48 pages.
