The Colours of West Yorkshire (Capital)

1 In Stock

A superb colour album of buses run by all the bus companies to have operated in West Yorkshire between the 1950s and 1970s.

The operators are arranged in alphabetical order and include the municipally owned companies and others such as County Motors, Hanson, Hebble, and West Riding. At the back there is a chapter looking at the county’s independent operators of that period.

Each chapter starts with a short history of the company in question from its early days through to the 1970s, and most of the photos have detailed captions. Buses depicted include AECs, Albions, Bristols, Daimlers, Guys and Leylands. Trolleybuses in Bradford and Huddersfield are also featured, as they survived until 1972 and 1968 respectively with Bradford being the UK’s last operational trolleybus network.

Over 300 colour photos. 168 pages. Hardback.
