The Capital Citybus Story (Visions)

Back Order

Capital Citybus was one of London's most successful independent bus companies. This photographic book focuses on the company's operations, vehicles and activities.

The story starts with its origins at Ensignbus, a company which was primarily a bus dealership but who saw an opportunity to start operating sightseeing tours of the capital and later started running local bus services under contract to London Regional Transport.

In the early 1990s the brand name Capital Citybus was introduced, along with a bright canary yellow and red livery which would become a common sight around London in the years to come. Following First's acquisition of the company in 1998, the name was changed to First Capital and later, First London.

This book incorporates over 380 photographs, accompanied by captions, of buses operating around London and traces the origins of the company and how it developed and eventually disintegrated. 122 pages.
