A fascinating album of colour photographs featuring public transport in London between 1948 and 1969. The area of London covered is the expanse once encompassed by London Transport’s green bus operation and the photographs illustrate the various modes of transport, and the many vehicle types, available in the city. Images show buses, trams and trolleybuses, main line trains (steam, diesel and electric), London Transport electric and steam along with little-known industrial railways. Also features activities on the Thames, in docks and on canals; liners, ferries and pleasure steamers, plus aviation and even a coal merchant’s horse drawn cart!
