An album of black & white photos taken by the late Peter Mitchell of buses operated by London Transport’s Country Buses division across the southern half of the London Country operating area, arranged in a roughly clockwise order starting in Gravesend and finishing in High Wycombe.

The photos mostly date from the 1950s and 1960s when London Country buses formed part of London Transport, and there are also a few from the early 1970s after London Country had become a National Bus Company-owned operator but while its vehicles retained the LT “roundel”.

Most of the photos are of RTs or single deck RFs. Other vehicle types featured include Leyland Cubs, STLs, Routemasters and GSs. Locations depicted include a good mix of town centres, housing estates and country roads.

Hardback. 160 pages. Over 200 black & white photographs.
