Mit Volldampf durchs Erzgebirge (Sutton Zeitreise)

A collection of over 160 fascinating colour photographs showing steam operation in the area of the Erzegebirge mountains in the 1980s and 1990s. Illustrates a range of different steam operations, including on the lines between Zwickau and Freiberg, and between Chemnitz and Schwarzenberg.

Many of the main line images feature standard steam locomotives in their last few years of service. These are joined by images of the narrow gauge operations in the area, some of which are little changed today as they continue to operate as tourist railways.

The book is divided into ten chapters, each covering a particular line in the area. An introduction to each line is followed by a series of colour images, all accompanied by detailed captions containing historical and/or anecdotal information.

Many of the photographs feature the unmistakable landscape of the Erzegebirge Mountains and will serve as a reminder of a now lost era. German text. Hardback. 128 pages.
