A pictorial history of the former branch between Mürzzuschlag and Neuberg in the south-east Austrian state of Steiermark (Styria).
The book starts with a short history of the line from its opening in 1879 to its closure to regular passenger trains in 1996 and all traffic in 2000. This is followed by photos of the locos and railcars used on the branch and two chapters with photos taken along the route. There is a good mix of steam and diesel-hauled regular service trains, freights and specials, and of course single coach railcars in the last few decades of operation. At the back there is a short chapter on the Südbahn Museum in Mürzzuschlag.
120 pages. Around 200 photos, mostly colour. German text. Hardback.
