£59.95
Back Order

The third volume in this highly detailed series examining the locomotive fleet operated by Austria’s state-owned railway companies between 1918 and 1938. Volumes 1 and 2 in the series dealt with standard gauge steam locomotives, whereas this volume examines narrow gauge steam locomotives, plus standard gauge diesel and electric locomotives and railcars.

For each class of locomotive and railcar, a brief description, history, black & white photographs, technical data and scale drawings of each type are included. Renumbering details are provided where appropriate, along with withdrawal dates for every class member.

Many of the new designs developed during the period under review became some of the best-known Austrian locomotive classes with many seeing active service long after 1945. These include ÖBB Classes 1045/1145/1245, 1089/1189, 2091, 2190, 2193 and 5044.

Triebfahrzeuge 1918 bis 1938: Band 3 is a definitive record of the featured Austrian locomotives and railcars from this period of history. The vehicles are presented individually in words and pictures, accompanied by detailed statistics and approximately 200 photographs, as well as numerous type sketches and tables. 320 pages. German text.
