This book examines the plans of Adolf Hitler and Albert Speer to massively expand Berlin’s railways during the 1930s and 1940s. Their plans to construct a huge wide street linking two new stations; the ‘Südbahnhof’ with the ‘Nordbahnhof’ were never carried out, however some aspects of their plans were put into effect and early construction work carried out, some of which could still be seen in Berlin at time of publication. Eisenbahn-Grössenwahn in Berlin reviews the plans with the aid of photographs, models and maps. Published 2005. German text. 144 pages.
