Back Order

A concise history of the Echaztalbahn, a now long-closed former railway line between Reutlingen and Kleinengstingen in southern Germany that included a rack and pinion (Zahnrad) section.

The book tells the story of the line itself and describes the steam locos and diesel railcars (Schienenbusse) used on the route. There are also descriptions of the stations, accounts of notable events in the history of the line and copies of newspaper and magazine articles from the opening of the route.

As well as images of the operational railway there are also some more recent photos of surviving station buildings and preserved examples of locos and coaches used on the line.

German text. 128 pages.
