The definitive account of the Berliner Ringbahn. The lines that made up the Berliner Ringbahn were built 150 years ago. As well as enabling services to operate between stations on the edge of the city, they gave a useful way to pass around Berlin without having to navigate through its centre.

The lines have had something of a chequered history, not least the interruption to services arising from the construction of a cold war border between Berlin and the GDR. Die Berliner Ringbahn: Die Geschichte der legendären Eisenbahnstrecke 1871 bis heute delves deep into the history of the route and describes not only the current state, but also how it came about.

Each section of the Ringbahn is examined in turn, with many photographic illustrations from various periods of history, including many of an important historical nature. Track layout diagrams are also provided for many locations and the locomotives and rolling stock used on the Ringbahn are also examined.

The book is presented in large-format hardback. 336 pages. German text
