An album of colour photographs of Class 87 electric locomotives in action on electrified lines around Britain. Fist introduced in 1973, Class 87 locomotives were the prime electric motive power on Britain's railways for the next 15 years, often seen a t the head of Anglo-Scottish express services. The photographs show the locomotives from their first years in service, through their heyday on the West Coast Main Line, to teh end of their lives and present day examples still in existence. Photograph captions provide further details about each subject and a short introduction to the class is also included. 96 pages.
