Blue Diesels in View (Capital)

Back Order

By Gavin Morrison. An album of high quality colour photographs of diesel locomotives and multiple units in action between 1964 and the mid-1980s. The BR blue era began in 1964 with a demonstration train of new Mk. 1 coaches with a repainted Brush Type 4 locomotive. Over the following 25 years, the BR blue livery became standard across Britain’s railway network. However, what the railway may have lacked in colour it made up for in the variety of locomotive classes, the great majority of which are illustrated in this attractive colour album. Photographs are arranged into chapters covering each region of the country. An introduction to diesel traction during this time is included and each photograph is accompanied by an informative caption. Hardback. 112 pages.
