Lost Tramways of England: Nottingham

Back Order

One in a series of books looking into the history of English first-generation tramway systems. The city of Nottingham used to have two traditional electric tramway operations. The first undertaking was operated by the Nottingham Corporation Tramway and was then followed by a system operated by the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Tramways Company. This book examines the routes of the networks and looks at their key features in detail. By the mid-1920s the electric tramway system was in decline, superseded by a new, more cost-effective form of transport, the trolleybus and by the mid-1930s all of the city’s first-generation trams had been withdrawn. Hardback. 64 pages.
