Lost Tramways of England: Coventry

Back Order

One in a series of books looking into the history of English first-generation tramway systems. This volume examines in detail the tramway once found in the city of Coventry. The network was never very extensive and during the 1930s a number of the tram routes were replaced with bus routes. The system was finally abandoned after the city suffered devastating damage during the air raid of 14 November 1940, during World War II. Primarily focusing on the electric tramways, this book covers the history, development, and decline of the local tram networks. Well-illustrated with black & white photographs and some maps. Hardback. 64 pages.
