A comprehensive pictorial history of the London E/1 type tram fleet from construction and entry to service between 1907 and 1930 until withdrawal of the last cars with the closure of the London tramway system in 1952.

Over 1000 of this highly successful design of tram were built for London County Council Tramways, with similar vehicles being produced for other networks operating within the Greater London boundaries such as Croydon and East and West Ham before the London Passenger Transport Board was created in 1933. The book describes their operations from introduction until withdrawal, including the “Pullmanisation” modification programme of the 1920s and details of vehicles damaged in enemy action during World War II.

Includes a full fleet list and details of the two examples surviving in preservation.
