A number of Yorkshire's major towns and cities are featured, including Leeds, Sheffield, York, Hull and Doncaster as well as smaller places and rural locations throughout Yorkshire.

A variety of locomotive types can be seen operating on the mainline network and some images of tank locomotives operating on industrial railways are also included.

Yorkshire Steam 1948-1967 presents an intresting collection of photographs of steam locomotives in urban and rural settings around Yorkshire during a period where steam traction was gradually being phased out.
