Compiled by Jeremy Clements, featuring images from the Dick Riley and Peter Gray collections. This book illustrates non-passenger trains operating around the Western Region of British Railways between the 1940s and 1960s. The book is divided into chapters, each covering a particular type of traffic flow, including main line freight, parcels, china clay, minerals and local goods. Each chapter contains a short summary of the featured traffic, followed by a series of black & white photographs of trains of that type at locations around the Western Region. Each photograph is accompanied by an informative caption providing details of the subject illustrated. 112 pages.
