This book looks at the colour schemes used on locomotives, coaches and wagons by each of the main line railway companies to have operated in London and South-East England before the 1923 Grouping. It includes the Metropolitan, London & South Western, London Brighton & South Coast, London Chatham & Dover and South Eastern & Chatham Railways.
For each company there is a separate chapter describing how the liveries evolved over the years, illustrated with photos, drawings and panels showing each colour used. As well as the actual colours, the book also describes the styles of numbering and lettering used.
Over 400 photos and drawings. 104 pages.
