At the peak of the steam era the West Midlands region consisted of a varied system of railway lines. This book covers 1948-1967 and shows locomotives at work over the area, including some privately owned locomotives employed at industrial locations. There was a wide-range of steam motive power working on the lines over this period, which reflected the many steam companies that had evolved across the region.

An interesting collection of images which features stations, sheds and sidings, as well as lineside scenes. Around 230 colour and black & white photographs, all accompanied by captions. Hardback. 160 pages.
