The Last One's Gone: Lost Railway Locations of the 1960s (Amberley)

Back Order

Author Keith Widdowson takes us on a journey around some of his favourite railway locations during the 1960s, all of which have since lost their railway connection. With the Beeching Report signalling the demise of the railway in many locations, Keith set out to photograph railway locations which would soon be consigned to history. His photographs cover stations which have closed, as well as lineside locations and specific railway installations such as motive power depots. Chapters cover each year between 1964 and 1968, with each chapter containing a series of photographs, and each photograph accompanied by a detailed caption. An introduction describing the Beeching Report and its effects on the railway as a whole is also included. 96 pages.
