Charlie Verrall uses previously unpublished black & white photographs, taken during the final two decades of steam on the main line, to record this period of significant change on the railways. As well as photographs, there is also text describing his travels around Britain to find different locomotive types still in use. Sections cover each major region and include locomotives at work and rest in a wide variety of locations, from lineside shots to loco sheds. Each photograph is accompanied by a caption. 128 pages.
