Back Order

A new addition to Lightmoor Press' comprehensive series of books covering private owner wagons based in various counties of England. This volume studies all known wagon operators in the county of Wiltshire.

The county did not have a large amount of heavy industry, but it did have quite a number of quarries, with the county being famed for Bath Stone and other types of stone used for building.

The book is divided into chapters, each covering a type of industry:

  • Stone Quarrying
  • Iron Making
  • Coal Factors
  • Miscellaneous Industries

Within each chapter, entries are provided for each user of wagons in Wiltshire. Included in each entry is a brief description and history of the user and, where available, a black & white photograph illustrating one of the company's wagons. Other illustrations such as maps and reproduced advertising material are also included.

Contains over 250 archive photographs, drawings and maps. Hardback. 256 pages
