By Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith. An illustrated historical survey of the line from Doncaster to Hull via Goole, and the connecting line from Gilberdyke to Selby. The book contains a series of 120 black & white photographs telling the history of both lines and describing some of the key features to be found along the way.
The photographs are a representative selection from various points in railway history and show how the lines have evolved in many places. They show stations, junctions, signal boxes, freight facilities and important lineside infrastructure.
The photographs are accompanied by 25 maps, diagrams and timetable extracts providing further historical information about the lines and the services which have operated over the years. Specific events, such as the 2013 landslip that closed the line north of Hatfield and Stainforth are also illustrated. 96 pages Hardback.
