The main line is covered in detail, along with branch lines to Heanor and Pinxton and the Nottingham Suburban Railway.

Derby-Ilkeston-Nottingham from Egginton Junction contains 120 black & white photographs illustrating interesting features along the line including stations, junctions, signal boxes and freight facilities. The pictures are a mixture of archive and more recent images taken in the years leading up to the closure of the line in the 1960s. Detailed captions provide further historical information.
