An Illustrated Appreciation 4: Gresley K3s (Book Law)

£27.99
Back Order

This book is an illustrated record of the Gresley Class K3 steam locomotives, which were built throughout the 1920s and early 1930s for mixed traffic work. The K3 was a more powerful development of the K2 locomotive and boasted a six foot diameter boiler; the largest fitted to any British steam locomotive at the time.

Each of the 193 locomotives in the class are illustrated, apart from six for which photographs could not be sourced. Photographs illustrate the locomotives in action, with several images of locomotives in works and also at scrapyards following withdrawal. A full list of locomotive allocations by shed is included, along with a list of notable accidents and incidents and details of locomotive tenders.

Photographs are each accompanied by an extensive caption, providing information about the locomotive's history. Hardback. 160 pages.
